Google Business Profile setup for an Abu Dhabi business

Abu Dhabi runs a different licensing authority and a different address system to Dubai, and both show up during verification. AED 149, built in 48 hours, preview before you pay.

Abu Dhabi is not Dubai with a different pin

Two things change the moment the address crosses the emirate line. The licence comes from Abu Dhabi's own economic department rather than Dubai's, and the address follows Onwani — zone, street name and building number — rather than Dubai's Makani plates. A profile built as though it were a Dubai listing usually survives the form and then fails at verification, which is the expensive place to fail.

Everything else Google weighs — relevance, distance, prominence — works the same way. It is the evidence layer underneath that differs.

Get the address into Onwani form before you start

Onwani gives every building a number and every street a name, and the plate is usually on the building itself. Take the zone, the street name and the building number from the plate and use exactly that on the profile, the licence file and anything else a reviewer might see. Guessing at a street name from a maps app is where most of the mismatches come from.

For Mussafah industrial units, the plot and unit number is the part that identifies you, and a warehouse row where twenty units share a facade needs your own unit clearly signed before anyone films anything.

The Dubai licence, Abu Dhabi customer question

This comes up constantly and the answer is narrower than most people want. A profile's address has to be where the business actually operates from. A Dubai-licensed company with no premises in Abu Dhabi does not get an Abu Dhabi address on the strength of having customers there.

What it can do is run as a service-area business: address hidden, Abu Dhabi listed among the areas served. That makes you eligible to appear for searches in those areas, though distance still weighs against you compared with a business physically there. It is an honest setup and it works; it is simply not the same as a local pin.

Free zones, flexi desks and the thing that always fails

KIZAD, Masdar, ADGM and the rest issue perfectly valid licences, and a licence is not the problem. The problem is the premises behind it. A flexi-desk package, a shared address used by dozens of companies, a PO box or a mailbox service is an automatic rejection, and no amount of re-filming changes that.

If your licence is a free-zone one but you genuinely work out of a unit, an office or a site, that is what the profile should be built around — with signage and paperwork that match.

Verification, and the part that actually needs someone there

The build does not need anybody in Abu Dhabi. The profile, categories, services, description, photos and address evidence can all be prepared remotely, and usually are.

The recorded video does need a person at the premises, because it has to be one continuous unedited take that moves from the street and the building number, through the entrance, to the working area and a document carrying the business name. If the recording keeps getting rejected, the route that works is asking Google for live video call verification through the verification status tool and waiting the two or three business days that follow. We walk whoever is on site through the shot list beforehand so the attempt is not wasted.

Al Ain and Al Dhafra are separate searches

Abu Dhabi the emirate is not Abu Dhabi the city as far as Maps is concerned. A business on the Corniche does not show up for a search made in Al Ain, and a service-area profile that claims the entire emirate tends to perform worse than one that names the areas it genuinely covers.

List the areas you will actually travel to. A tight, truthful service area beats a wide one.

What we do, and what we will not say

AED 149, one time. Existing-listing check first so we claim rather than duplicate, then the profile built with the correct primary category, services, hours, description and photos, the Onwani address prepared properly, and the verification walked through with whoever is on site — including the escalation to a live call when the recorded video keeps failing.

We do not promise Google will verify a listing, in Abu Dhabi or anywhere else. That is Google's decision. What we commit to is the build inside 48 hours and staying on the verification rather than handing you a rejection and going quiet.

Questions we get asked

My licence is from Dubai but most of my work is in Abu Dhabi. Can I list an Abu Dhabi address?

Not a street address you do not operate from. What works is a service-area profile with the address hidden and Abu Dhabi listed among the areas you serve. You become eligible for those searches, though a business physically there still has a distance advantage.

Do you need to come to Abu Dhabi to set this up?

No. The whole build is done remotely. The only step that needs a person at the premises is the verification video, and we send the shot list and talk whoever is on site through it before they record.

Is the price different from Dubai?

No. AED 149 one time, same work, same 48-hour build, and you see the profile before you pay anything.
